'Cello as Percussion
I know that the 'cello is not a percussion instrument, but don't tell Pearce that yet. Yesterday I was practicing and Pearce was loose on the floor. That is not the most ideal situation for practicing sense the boy loves to try to climb the music stand. That deserves a picture, we'll have to work on that one. Well, yesterday we had a slightly different variation of holding on to things we shouldn't. Pearce got a hold of my end pin. That was funny. He grabbed it before I started playing. When I started the first exercise he looked at the end pin, then me, then back at the end pin and started to laugh. He like the good vibrations. Next the boy started to keep time for Daddy by slapping the face of the 'cello. He got the biggest kick out of that, but we had to stop when the music stand was brought into play. Pearce got in the exer-saucer and started to munch on his little banana bites and enjoy the Daddy concert. I'm exercising on the Rosenmuller Student Music for BC and working out a Daniel Demoivre suite for solo cello.
If anyone knows anything about Daniel Demoivre I would like to have a little background info on the guy. All I know is that he lived between 1670 and 1730 maybe and composed recorder music and 5 cello solo suites that aren't terribly difficult. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

It's the End of the World As We Know It
The boy is mobile and he likes cleaning things like the vaccuum cleaner. At least it is tall and weird looking to him. Nothing is safe now and that is just fine.

Valley Point Invitational Scrimages
This weekend the WMSE Wildcats went to Southeast High to participate in the Valley Point Middle School Invitational Scrimages. We did very well. We walked off the bus and into our first match with no time to warm up. We won 2-1. I tell you right now the coach felt very good about that. We had a few minutes to rest and then we played the hosts and won 1-0. Then the lack of players started to show. In our third and last match we got handled rather roughly. The final score of that scrimage was 5-0. We didn't get the first shot off. We play our first real match on Thursday against Model Middle. More later.
Bear with me New Pictures Soon
I have been verbally acosted a few times for being slack with the Pearce Pics. I have new pics coming and even the possibility of a video or two. I further promise that something new will be up before any of y'all get to see the boy in person (this weekend).

What a Week
Monday was awesome. We didn't have school. Tuesday was busy. Had a meeting that didn't happen, Barak Obama was sworn in as the President of the United States, and soccer tryouts started in 30° weather. Fantastic!!! Needless to say we closed up shop before the sun started to sink (around 5pm). Wednesday less hectic. One parent was 45 minutes late to pick up their child. Thursday we actually start appreciating the warming weather. Players really need to work on how to make a circle. Some of them have atrocious skills, some are just slackers, and some are phenomenal. Today is the fish or cut bait day. I will see the last of my aspirants before I drop the axe. Monday will be the day of wailing and nashing of teeth. Monday will be the day loud hosannas. Monday night will see my email box fill up.
To be sure to keep up with WMSE Wildcat Soccer the first competition is on Saturday Feb. 7 at the Valley Point Invitational Jamboree at Southeast Whitfield High School.

I did not put him up to this. He just started kicking the soccer ball and check out the greart diving save.

Hello Hello Hello
Happy New Year. We made it through an awesome year. I got a new job and it is an adventure all the way around. I am teaching special education in a Middle School. Again, you must never say never; you'll wind up doing just that. I also got the head coaching position for the boys soccer team at the new school.
Kristi went back to work and got a promotion. Kristi and Pearce were in the Church's Christmas Play at the last minute. Mommy got sick and Pearce went on with an understudy and stole the show. 2 weeks later Pearce was back on stage at the Westminster Christian Academy Christmas Pageant as a Jack in the Box. Now we are looking forward to what is going to happen in 2009.

Christmas with Pearce
One Pearce open sleigh.
Tis the season for Christmas preparations.
Early Christmas Eve loving on Santa
This is how Pearce spent Christmas Eve. It seems that he will be like his father. This picture was taken near midnight. The only time he cried was when we tried to lay him down. Finally, Mommy succeeded in getting the super elf to bed.
Here is Pearce at 7:00am Christmas Day ready to experience the whole Christmas thing. Elmo and his thumb at the ready.
