I know that the 'cello is not a percussion instrument, but don't tell Pearce that yet. Yesterday I was practicing and Pearce was loose on the floor. That is not the most ideal situation for practicing sense the boy loves to try to climb the music stand. That deserves a picture, we'll have to work on that one. Well, yesterday we had a slightly different variation of holding on to things we shouldn't. Pearce got a hold of my end pin. That was funny. He grabbed it before I started playing. When I started the first exercise he looked at the end pin, then me, then back at the end pin and started to laugh. He like the good vibrations. Next the boy started to keep time for Daddy by slapping the face of the 'cello. He got the biggest kick out of that, but we had to stop when the music stand was brought into play. Pearce got in the exer-saucer and started to munch on his little banana bites and enjoy the Daddy concert. I'm exercising on the Rosenmuller Student Music for BC and working out a Daniel Demoivre suite for solo cello.
If anyone knows anything about Daniel Demoivre I would like to have a little background info on the guy. All I know is that he lived between 1670 and 1730 maybe and composed recorder music and 5 cello solo suites that aren't terribly difficult. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
